TAHS 2010 Requirements

Where can I access the Take a Healthy Step information?
At MyHealth OnLine, which is available through My HUB. You will find a convenient new website that enables you to easily understand the steps necessary to earn the deductible credit, verify that your requirements are met, and then view the steps necessary to qualify for MyHealth Rewards drawings.

What is my first step?
Your first step is to read and acknowledge the Wellness Pledge, a simple affirmation that you wish to take steps to maintain or improve your health. The pledge leads you to the MyHealth Questionnaire. Here you can update your current information or complete the questionnaire for the first time. Both are available from the Take a Healthy Step landing page.

Do I have to re-enter into the MyHealth Questionnaire the family history information I entered last year?
No. For your convenience, many questions will be pre-populated with data from your prior MyHealth Questionnaire and MyHealth Record.

I see that I need to complete a biometric screening. What does that mean?
A biometric screening is a MyHealth baseline requirement. You have the option of visiting a UPMC Employee Health location or a Quest Diagnostics location for a free biometric screening (you will receive details in a letter this spring) or visiting your doctor for a screening that includes height, weight, blood pressure, a lipid panel (cholesterol and triglyceride measurements), and a blood glucose test.

How will my biometric screening results be used?
The results from your screening are for your information. Should any results be less than optimal, you are encouraged to follow up with your physician and consider participating in one of the many wellness programs offered – which also may count for MyHealth Rewards points! Your biometric screening results have no impact on your premium or the amount of your deductible credit.

I just completed the Wellness Pledge/MyHealth Questionnaire, but I have not received any points. What should I do?
Wait 7 days and check your point total again. Many Healthy Steps take up to 7 days to be processed and credited to your point total. If your points are not credited after 7 days, you may call a Member Advocate at 1-888-876-2756 or use the secure online Message Center to inquire. To use the secure Message Center, select the “My Home” tab, scroll down to the “Message Center,” and click on “Inbox” to send a message to a Member Advocate.

I reported completion of a health screening or a “Reminders for Better Health” step on my MyHealth Questionnaire, but this step has not shown up on my list of completed Healthy Steps, and the points for it have not been credited to my point total. What should I do?
Self-reporting of these steps does not count toward your point total. You will receive points automatically once your doctor submits the information about your screening or step. If less than 7 days have passed since you took the Healthy Step, wait 7 days for your doctor’s information to be received and the points credited, and check your point total again. If after 7 days you do not see your points credited, you may call a Member Advocate at 1-888-876-2756 or use the secure online Message Center to inquire. To use the secure Message Center, select the “My Home” tab, and scroll down to the “Message Center” and click on “Inbox” to send a message to a Member Advocate.

Are there any activities other than the ones listed on the Take a Healthy Step website that qualify for points?
No. Other qualifying activities are being considered and will be added to the site once they are finalized.

I have clicked on the “MyReward Points” button to check my point total, and I do not agree with it. What should I do?
Please read all of the answers to the Frequently Asked Questions. If after reading these questions you do not agree with your point total, you may call a Member Advocate at 1-888-876-2756 or use the secure online Message Center to inquire. To use the secure Message Center, select the “My Home” tab, scroll down to the “Message Center,” and click on “Inbox” to send a message to a Member Advocate.

TAHS 2010 MyHealth Rewards

Can I substitute other Healthy Steps for the Wellness Pledge/MyHealth Questionnaire and the biometric screening in order to qualify for the MyHealth Rewards drawings?
No. You must complete those 2 steps to meet your 2010 MyHealth deductible requirements and to qualify for the reward drawings. You must also complete additional Healthy Steps to meet your deductible requirements and to qualify for the second, third, and fourth reward drawings. For details, click on the “MyHealth Rewards Points” button on the Take a Healthy Step website landing page.

Top of page

Why is each reward drawing date approximately 30 days after the date by which the requirements for that reward drawing need to be met?
The 30-day difference provides time for all steps taken to be properly credited to your Healthy Step total in advance of each reward drawing.

Top of page

Could a participant possibly win more than 1 reward over the course of the 4 reward drawings?
Yes. However, each participant can win only 1 reward in a single drawing, and each participant can win only 3 times throughout the year.

Top of page

How can I find out whether I have qualified for a certain reward drawing?
Click on the button called “MyHealth Rewards Points” on the landing page of the Take a Healthy Step website to see the requirements for each reward drawing and determine whether or not you have met them.

Top of page

If I win a $500 reward, how will I be notified?
You will receive a call from a Member Services representative, who will verify with you that you do want to receive the reward. You will then receive a written confirmation, by mail or e-mail, of your reward. Your verification that you do want to receive the reward signifies your permission to list you as a winner in UPMC print and electronic communications. No personal information other than your name and the date of the Take a Healthy Step reward drawing will be listed. If you choose not to receive the reward, another name will be drawn. All rewards will be made in each of the 4 drawings.

Top of page

If I win a $500 reward, how will I receive it?
The reward, minus any applicable taxes, will be added to your UPMC paycheck within 2 pay cycles of the reward drawing.

Top of page

I see that all points I earn “carry over” to future reward drawings. How does this work?
Each chance in a reward drawing requires 100 points. You can earn 200 points for completing the Wellness Pledge/MyHealth Questionnaire and biometric screening to qualify for the first drawing. Your 200 points equals 2 chances to win. The points will carry over to the second drawing. If you earn an additional 100 points, then you will qualify for the second drawing and have 3 chances to win in the second drawing.

Top of page

It seems like the earlier I take Healthy Steps, the more chances I have to win rewards throughout the year. Is this true?
Yes. For example, if you complete your Wellness Pledge/MyHealth Questionnaire, biometric screening, and 200 additional Healthy Step points by May 1, you will have 4 chances in every reward drawing, even if you do not earn any additional points throughout the year. Earn points early and throughout the year to maximize your chances to win rewards.
