Full-time Student

A child between age 19-25 who meets all other dependent criteria is eligible to be covered under your benefits provided they are enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited school, college, or university. It is your responsibility to notify the Employee Service Center immediately when your dependent is no longer enrolled in 12 credits per semester (9 credits graduate). Full-time student proof is required when child is first enrolled, at age 19, and annually thereafter.

Effective Jan. 1, 2010 - As required by Michelle's Law, a child who fails to maintain full-time student status due to a qualified medical leave of absence (beginning Jan. 1, 2010 or later) may remain covered as an employee's dependent for up to a year after the leave of absence begins.
